Name: Cassidy McCallum
Cassidy was born into a life of privilege, her parents being products of old money. Raised on a private estate far from the urban sprawl of modern day America, Cassidy was often left to her own devices. Alone she developed a passion for computer science. Interacting with machines was intuitive for her and far easier than trying to socialize with her aloof, self absorbed parents. Her peers weren’t much better, more interested in status and partying than anything bearing substance.
Concerned by their daughter’s extensive computer use, her parents bought her a dog (a boxer named Nuemann) and a stallion (Voltaire) in an effort to get her outdoors. Amongst all their wealth and opulence this was the greatest gift they ever gave their daughter. These animals represented her first true friends. She loved them immensely, a love so strong it would ultimately turn intimate as she reached adulthood.
When it came time for college, Cassidy decided to commute (though not in the traditional sense, teleporters were involved) to a highly respected technology institute where she would earn a degree in Artificial Intelligence.
*She meets the crew of the Andromeda (episode 15) after being abducted on Earth by slavers.*
Gwen (Subject 005)
A successful yet classified Omni-Tron research project gave birth to Subject 005. Few knew how she came to be but rumors had suggested that she was the ultimate result of fusing the vestiges of “those who came before” and the best from the human gene pool. As a result, those at Omni-Tron paid very close attention to her development, taught her the best of human sciences and the best of all known alien wisdom. Specialized in hand-to-hand and weaponry combat, those at Omni-Tron hoped she would discover the remnants of “those who came before” in the hinterlands of space where horrors and wealth to mankind remain to be discovered. Yet, for the moment, she is kept under the closely watched facilities of Omni-Tron Research Division. Her days are regulated, her tasks routine.
Despite the strict regimen and the great hopes in her, Subject 005 (later named “Gwen” by a top research head), never left the Omni-Tron lab since birth. As a consequence, her only contact with the rest of the world arrived on pages of books and images in holograms. At best, she saw what’s out there through the tales of researchers and the specimens in the labs. In truth, she detested the eggheads in the lab and hid her grievance toward their “experiments.” Naturally curious yet cautious, she hoped she will be set free and thrust into the world beyond. With just a bit of fortune, perhaps her vast knowledge and drilled expertise will one day grant her this wish?
Name: Alexandra (Sasha) Jenson
D.O.B. : 1/5/2276
Sasha was given up at birth never to know her real parents. She lived in various foster families throughout her life and grew accustomed to not having a home. She grew up with a strong sense of self finding herself responsible and independent at an early age.
Sasha was gifted with a quick wit and strong intuition. She excelled at sports, where her physical talents and independent instincts put her ahead on the field. She graduated with honors, attending the naval academy in hopes that they could provide stability in her life .
In the Academy she was quickly inducted into the officer program where she earned some of the highest marks of her generation. She was on the fast track to success, her rise to prominence caught the eye of legendary Admiral Emilio Cortez, who mentored her into becoming one of the youngest Captains in Omni-Tron history.
From Cortez she learned how to command with loyalty and distinction. She had her crew’s respect and often put their safety and well being above the mission. Despite her inner strength and overall competence, Sasha often finds herself in need of a release. The responsibility of a being a Starship captain weighs heavy on her indeed.
Name: Julia Mackey
Juli is a prodigy specializing in Exobiology, her parents are both formidable scientists in Earth’s Navy. Her upbringing and natural talent allowed her to develop intellectually at an accelerated rate graduating from high school at 14. Socially aloof she had few friends until college and even she was often too busy to truly form any meaningful relationships. Juli found herself able to better relate to her lab specimen than own species.
She enrolled in the premier science academy earning a bachelors degree by her 16th birthday. She was in the doctorate program in Exobiology at Earth’s Naval Academy where she met her best friend and current shipmate Sylvia.
Juli possesses an insatiable curiosity and an apparent lack of fear. This along with her natural talents have helped her succeed professionally, though it has put her in more than one life threatening situation.
Name: Sylvia Summers
Sylvia is the result of a scandalous union between a powerful (married) politician and a very talented stripper. She grew up never knowing her father, but did not want for anything. Her mother was overly cautious raising her, not wanting Sylvia to share the same seedy fate as herself.
Still genetics cannot be denied, and Sylvia’s mother became even more overbearing when it became apparent that she inherited her mother’s looks. As a result she spent most of her teen years indoors or under adult supervision. Her social repression during these formative years caused her to be far more curious sexually than other horny teenagers her age. Long hours indoors with unrestricted extranet access only fed her curiosity, which later became a fetish.
Sylvia’s mother realized her daughter needed companionship and in lieu of her sweet 16 had bought her pet Klagozar, Xilo. Klagozars loosely resembled the k9 of earth, though they were much stronger and far more intelligent than any dog. Fiercely loyal they would protect those who they viewed as members of their pack to the death.
Unknown to her mother Sylvia had already taken a keen interest in interspecies sex and so Xilo was indeed the perfect gift.
Sylvia always had a talent for operating machines. A gifted pilot and vehicle enthusiast she enrolled in the Naval academy with hopes of becoming an officer. She met Juli in the Academy and the two quickly became friends. She was instrumental in getting the young doctor assigned to the Andromeda.
